Electrochemical Synthesis of Carbon Quantum Dots

چکیده

Carbon quantum dots (CDs) are “small” carbon nanostructures with excellent photoluminescence properties, together low-toxicity, high biocompatibility, dispersibility in water as well organic solvents. Due to their characteristics, CDs have been studied for a plethora of applications biosensors, luminescent probes photodynamic and photothermal therapy, fluorescent inks many more. Moreover, the possibility obtain from biomasses and/or waste has strongly promoted interest this class carbon-based nanoparticles, having promising impact view circular economy sustainable processes. Within context, electrochemistry proved be green, practical, efficient method synthesis high-quality CDs, fine-tune characteristics by changing operational parameters. This review outlines principal most recent advances electrochemical focusing on set-up optimization.
